No Case
Oh, my:
Arrest Report
Biden's AG had a shady past:
Before becoming one of the Justice Department’s top leaders, Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke was allegedly involved in a violent domestic dispute, according to court documents, records, and text messages—an incident that ended in her arrest and was ultimately expunged. During her Senate confirmation, Clarke specifically denied ever having been arrested for or accused of committing a violent crime. Clarke was nominated by President-elect Joe Biden on Jan. 7, 2021, and later confirmed by the U.S. Senate on May 25, 2021, to lead the DOJ’s “crown jewel,” as former Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. described the Civil Rights Division. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris celebrated Clarke as the first black woman to head the Civil Rights Division, promising she would focus on fighting voter suppression and hate crimes “across the country.” During her confirmation, Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., asked then-nominee Clarke: “Since becoming a legal adult, have you ever been arrested for or accused of committing a violent crime against any person?” “No,” she responded, according to responses she submitted under oath to “Questions for the Record” from U.S. senators. The past always comes back...

Dog Hounds
Congress wants to keep people "safe" from their own best friends:
This sounds like one of those wonderful, touchy-feely type of initiatives intended to give us the warm fuzzies. However, if the caucus is going to push an animal rights agenda as Mace suggested, it could be more nefarious than it might seem – especially for dog owners. There is already plenty of legislation at the federal, state, and local levels, and these laws are often abused to attack people’s property rights. In Kentucky, lawmakers are mulling a bill that would further outline procedures for dogs deemed “vicious” by the court – especially when the owner is found incompetent to stand trial. The law is ostensibly intended to protect people from aggressive animals. In essence, it would allow the authorities to seize an animal without due process if it is accused of being “vicious,” which essentially amounts to a red flag law for pets. It could empower the government to take someone’s property without going through the proper processes. In Hot Springs County, Arkansas, Jose Gudino faced a harrowing experience with local law enforcement over false allegations of animal cruelty. He came home from work one evening, and found police officers on his property. They accused him of mistreating his dogs and fighting his chickens. Neither allegation was accurate.Leave those dogs alone...
Canal Concerns
The Panama Canal might not be in as much trouble as previously reported after all:
The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has announced an increase in the number of daily transit slots available in the older Panamax Locks. The measures come in response to the current and anticipated water levels of Gatun Lake and increased demand for transit slots. Starting March 18, two more Panamax slots will be available for auction, and from March 25, an additional slot will be introduced. This will increase the daily transits to 27, an improvement from the current 24 slots. The levels are still significantly lower than the 36 daily transits typically available. Low water levels in Gatun Lake forced the Panama Canal Authority to reduce the capacity of the waterway in 2023 through daily transit and draft limits, in an effort to conserve freshwater. However, above average rainfall in November and December allowed the ACP to maintain 24 daily transits, rather than reduce the number to 18 in February as planned. .... ...On completion of these works ACP has announced measures that will increase the number of daily transits from 24 to 32, as water levels have improved following the drought last year that caused the implementation of restrictions.Or maybe they were never that low to begin with...
