Great Dumb North

Canada can't seem to figure it out:
Canada generally is far more unified in its dereliction than the U.S. It furnishes a unique example in which both an intellectually vacuous political cadre and a comatose electorate operate in approximately sibling tandem to pulverize the economy, enact oppressive articles of legislation, and plunge a once free and prosperous country into a debt-ridden, unproductive, ESG-indentured third world crater. The dominant political clade and the overwhelmingly left-voting electorate are twin aspects of the same moral and intellectual depravity. The politicians are brain-dead because they believe social and economic ruin is a planetary advantage. The people are brain-dead—at any rate, at least two-thirds or more of the voting public—since they are in general agreement with their betters and are just too stupid or indifferent to do their homework. The issue has come to a head with the accession of globalist banker and Net-Zero fanatic Mark Carney to the prime minister’s office, and the alarming possibility that the Liberal Party, which enjoyed three successive terms in which to devastate the country, is poised to win yet a fourth to complete the job. Carney, who is far more crackerjack and dangerous than his hapless puppet Justin Trudeau, is just the man to make it happen. As Action4Canada reminds us, Canadians don’t seem to care that Carney is an unrepentant globalist, a member of an oligarchic class that has “been contriving to create a dystopian future through fearmongering, misinformation, unscientific data, and manipulation.” Climate change must be fought, goes the mantra, even if it means the de-industrialization and impoverishment of the market-dominated economy.

Devil's Talk

Satan goes to school:

World Treaty

A treaty for the world:
WHO’s Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, described the agreement as “a significant milestone in our shared journey towards a safer world.” Tedros also noted that the pact demonstrates nations’ ability to collaborate on common challenges. The treaty is only the second in the WHO’s history, the first being the 2003 tobacco control agreement. Approval is now being sought at the upcoming World Health Assembly. Under the treaty, countries must ensure the global availability of pandemic-related medications. At the same time, manufacturers are required to allocate 20 percent of vaccine, therapeutic, and diagnostic production to the WHO — distribute 10 percent as donations, and offer the remainder at accessible prices. However, the U.S. was absent from the closing negotiations following President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the health agency.

Blue Breaker

David Hogg may have killed the Democrats:
Wilting under the stress of MAGA, the Democrats are forming a circular firing squad. As Politico noted: It’s an unprecedented, and controversial, move from a national officer within the Democratic Party that will enrage some insiders. Democratic Party committees, like the DNC, have traditionally not opposed incumbents in their own party, focusing instead on attacking Republicans, while the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is explicitly set up to protect incumbent members by providing resources, fundraising and strategy. Hogg’s decision comes at a time when the Democratic Party is grappling with how to confront President Donald Trump — and with what kind of Democrats can be their most effective messengers against the administration. Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, have faced intense pressure from base voters to ramp up their opposition to Trump’s administration. David Hogg is greasing the wheels for a very specific outcome: The elevation of younger, fiery, liberal leadership. He’s not coy about it either: [Hogg] acknowledged “there are going to be people who are very, very upset about this” but argued Democrats “are in a crisis right now,” citing a recent CNN poll that found the party’s approval rating at 29 percent, a record low for the party. “Our base is craving dramatic change,” Hogg said. “We need to show our base we’re here to fight for them. We need to show there are younger faces stepping up.” [emphasis added] Can’t imagine who he has in mind, eh? Keep a close eye on the trajectory of these two stories. They haven’t met in the middle yet, but when they do, the old Democratic Party will be dead — and AOC will be its next leader.
