The New York Times reported this week that the Trump administration has taken steps through DOGE to review Democratic-aligned organizations, law firms, and nonprofit groups that receive federal funds or tax-exempt status, as part of a broader initiative to streamline government and root out misuse of taxpayer dollars. “Executive actions intended to cripple top Democratic law firms. Investigations of Democratic fund-raising and organizing platforms. Ominous suggestions that nonprofits aligned with Democrats or critical of President Trump should have their tax exemptions revoked,” the Times reported.
