Drug King

Drug prices create unusual bedfellows:
The President signed the order earlier this week, seeking to prevent pharmaceutical manufacturers from charging Americans high drug prices while giving steep discounts to other wealthy nations. It is designed to "bring the prices Americans and taxpayers pay for prescription drugs in line with those paid by similar nations." Khanna, in a series of social media posts, said he supported Trump's order and would introduce it "exactly as written as legislation to be bipartisan [and] get something done for the American people." He did just that earlier today. "I rise today to introduce as legislation, President Trump's executive order for the most favored nation status on drug pricing," Khanna announced on the House floor. "My legislation will codify President Trump's executive order, which basically says that Americans should not pay more for drugs than people in other countries and other parts of the world." It's a common-sense order, but with a party sorely lacking in the sense department - common or otherwise - it's still a jarring image to see support for the President coming from a Democrat lawmaker. Perhaps even more jarring? Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) indicated he would introduce a Senate version supporting Trump's effort to slash the cost of prescription drugs. "I agree with President Trump: It is an outrage that the American people pay, by far, the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs," Sanders said in a statement. "It is beyond unacceptable that we pay, in some cases, ten times more for the same exact prescription drugs than people in other major countries."
Big Pharma (and the Left) will not be pleased...
