Two weeks ago, Green fever dreams began washing ashore in chunks and shards on the pristine beaches of Nantucket Island after the catastrophic failure of a brand new offshore wind turbine blade. And it was only half of the humongous, football-field-long blade that had shattered and fallen into the ocean. The rest hung forlornly off of the turbine tower like limp fettuccine, hanging on for another day or so until it dropped into the water to become a temporary navigational hazard before eventually settling on the ocean floor beneath the briny deep. A massive section of a damaged 350-foot turbine blade from a wind farm off the coast of Nantucket that detached Thursday morning has sunk to the ocean floor, town officials said Friday. The large piece of fiberglass “will be recovered in due course,” they said. Within a few days, GE did quietly admit that a "manufacturing flaw" in the blade was responsible for the failure. To emphasize how big the impact is, now they have to go check about 150 other already manufactured and installed blades, you know, just in case any of those didn't have enough glue either. A manufacturing flaw led to a turbine blade failure at the Vineyard Wind offshore project off the coast of Massachusetts this month, the part's producer, GE Vernova (GEV.N), opens new tab, said on Wednesday. The turbine blade broke on July 13 and left potentially dangerous debris on beaches on the island of Nantucket. U.S. authorities later ordered a shutdown of the project, which is still under construction. GE Vernova said a preliminary analysis had determined that insufficient bonding led to the breakage, adding its quality assurance program should have identified the issue. Yeah, 'coulda, shoulda' always bites you in the asterisk. There's always a "but..."

Wind Fail
The wind farm woes in Nantucket keep getting worse:
The Calibrator
She's adjusting her instruments, or something:
Calibrating is the nice word for "lying." They use a word with many syllables to make her look super-smart. It's all part of the brainwashing they are trying to do.Her coconut is defintely cracked...WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Kamala Harris is facing the delicate task of calibrating her policy pitch to American voters, a standard task for any White House hopeful but one that comes with additional challenges this year. First, Harris is running for president while serving under President Joe Biden, meaning she’s linked to anything that happened — or will happen — on his watch. She inherits accomplishments like limiting the cost of insulin but also the administration’s struggle to prevent illegal border crossings. Second, Harris has baggage from her own failed campaign for president before she became Biden’s running mate four years ago. During that Democratic primary, she backed an array of progressive proposals that Republicans have highlighted to paint her as “dangerously liberal.” Harris has already disavowed some of her earlier positions, such as a ban on fracking and support for single-payer healthcare. And she’s pledging to keep some of Biden’s promises, including no tax increases on anyone making less than $400,000 a year.See what Chris Megerian, the White House reporter for the Associated Press is doing here? It's called "making s**t up" and asking us to eat the sandwich he puts it in. This isn't "calibration." This is the weird Vice President and Democrat candidate lying through her teeth and expecting us to believe it. And she is selling the lies using the brainwashing power of the weird mainstream media who have a weird fixation with Coconut Kamala.
Bug Monopoly
The Bug Syndicate wants to expand:
Gaps in US regulations have enabled “alternative protein” startups to enter the insect food market – with the backing of figures such as Bill Gates and government agencies including the United Nations (“UN”), the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (“DARPA”) and the National Science Foundation. The trend towards insect-based foods is linked to the UN’s Agenda 2030 SDGs, promoting sustainability and forced behavioural modifications. “The insect craze is intimately connected to the UN’s Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” said Michael Rectenwald, author of ‘The Great Reset and the Struggle for Liberty: Unravelling the Global Agenda’. “The World Economic Forum – perhaps the largest driving force behind so-called ‘alternative proteins’ – frequently touts Singapore’s compliance with Agenda 2030, so the decision to prioritise insect-based foods is not surprising,” Seamus Bruner, author of ‘Controligarchs: Exposing the Billionaire Class, their Secret Deals, and the Globalist Plot to Dominate Your Life’ and director of research at the Government Accountability Institute, said. Proponents of insects as food for humans, including the UN Food and Agricultural Organisation (“FAO”), claim that they are more sustainable and have a lower carbon footprint compared to traditional livestock. However, animal-based foods like beef, pork and poultry are more efficient and healthy sources of protein. “The truth is that beef, pork, poultry and other animal-based foods are the most efficient and healthy sources of protein. These climate fanatics pushing insect-based foods are scaring people into adopting less healthy diets,” Bruner told The Defender. But it will make the bug monopoly more money...

Kids, meet your undefined parents:
The bill, titled ‘An Act To Ensure Legal Parentage Equality,’ would “update the state’s general laws establishing parentage, custody, support and visitation of a child,” The National Desk noted. House Bill 4750 passed the state Senate in a 40-0 vote and heads to Gov. Maura Healey’s desk. The state House approved the legislation 156-0. “Bill #H4750 just passed the Senate in MA. It would remove the word ‘father’ on birth certificates in the name of ‘legal parentage equality.’ It would also replace the terms ‘man’ & ‘woman’ with ‘persons’ and replace ‘mother’ with ‘person who gave birth,'” Libs of TikTok wrote. “It will now be finalized then head to the Governor’s desk,” she added.Parents, be prepared to change your pronouns...
Micro Military
The military tackles microagressions:
Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) revealed that a 27-page guidebook/memo from the 552nd Air Control Wing in Oklahoma was so insanely woke and filled with utter stupidity that you'd have to see it with your own eyes — or not. I'll do a breakdown for you to spare your brain cells. First Lt. Isabelle Allen and Capt. Jacqueline Kingsley wrote the book, and its title page has the following description: ODS [Observations of Discrimination in the Squadron] is an anonymous reporting form that enables you to inform your command team of any microaggression or discrimination that you may face or witness in the squadron. Oh, goody, microaggressions! Who would have thought those were still a thing? Anyway, the first couple of pages are some long-winded stuff about how to eliminate microaggressions, namely by saying that if some histrionic claims to have experienced a "microaggression," the proper response isn't "suck it up; that guy might save your life in the field one day." Instead, the complaint must be affirmed. Discrimination and harassment do exist, but this is the military. Not only are soldiers expected to be resilient (why do you think drill instructors/sergeants are famously angry?), but trading banter within the unit is practically a requirement. To eliminate "microaggressions" in the unit means not "tokenizing" people, according to the guide. By that, they mean: Singling out someone from a marginalized community during discussions on discrimination. Asking a member of a marginalized community to do the emotional labor of correcting discriminatory language/behavior. "As a member of [a marginalized group], please tell me your opinions on this issue (concerning said group).” Asking someone from a marginalized group to educate others on discrimination they experience. Which is it, people? How do you eliminate microaggressions without saying who is experiencing them or without the input of the "victims"? It just gets more brain-meltingly stupid from there.Unfortunately so is society...
Small Macs
McDonald's gets hit by bidenmocics:
The fast-food giant's same-store sales fell "for the first time in nearly four years in the second quarter as inflation-weary consumers skipped meals out or chose cheaper options," according to the Los Angeles Times. McDonald’s Chairman, President, and CEO Chris Kempczinski told investors on Monday's quarterly conference call, "Consumers still recognize us as the value leader versus our key competitors, it’s clear that our value leadership gap has recently shrunk." Most tellingly, while foot traffic was down at locations that had been open for at least one year — i.e., there were fewer customers — those who did come spent more because of price hikes. Kempczinski said McDonald's is doing a "comprehensive rethink" of its pricing. Shares were up 3% on the news. A rethink is certainly needed. $5 will now get your kid or grandkid a Happy Meal — on sale — but not too long ago that was the regular price for a Quarter Pounder with Cheese Meal. Morning Consult reported last week that "The labor market is cooling, price pressures are dissipating, and U.S. consumers’ willingness to splurge is looking increasingly tapped out."They can't afford what Ronald McDonald is selling...
Red Kamala
Yes, Kamala Harris is a radical:
Harris was the District Attorney of San Francisco from January 8, 2004, to January 3, 2011. She then became a U.S. senator from January 3, 2017, to January 18, 2021. In 2019, she was the most far-left senator, surpassing socialist Bernie Sanders (I-VT), according to GovTrack’s scorecard. The list of her radical policies includes: Endorsing “some form of reparation” Co-sponsored legislation to protect illegal immigrants from deportation Backed Bernie Sanders’ Medicare for All legislation Backed banning private health insurance Supported giving taxpayer-funded coverage to illegal immigrants Supported banning fracking Backed defunding the police Compared ICE to the KKK Wanted to ban plastic straws Defended banning offshore drilling Wanted to “undo” the Trump administration’s border security, taking 94 executive actions in their first 100 days to rescind nealy every Trump-era measure Supported decriminalizing illegal border crossings Said she wouldn’t “treat” illegal aliens as “criminals” Called for “starting [ICE] from scratch” Argued that temporarily closing the border violated federal law Raised money for the Minnesota Freedom Fund, a far-left organization that pays to bail out of jail violent criminals, including accused murderers and rapists. Supported Los Angeles’s cuts to their police department Called efforts to add more police to the streets “wrongheaded thinking” Championed the administration’s so-called “Bidenomics” as costs dramatically soared for American families Bragged about being a “leader” in the push to “get rid of the cash bail system in America.” Harris appears to be walking back some of her radical positions. But not too far...
Clean Pay
SF wants to pay people not to use drugs:
The “Cash Not Drugs” program, introduced by Democratic San Francisco Mayor London Breed and San Francisco Board of Supervisors member Matt Dorsey during a press conference, would pay residents $100 a week for taking a negative drug test. Eligible residents must already receive assistance from the County Adult Assistance Program (CAAP), have a substance abuse disorder and volunteer to take weekly drug tests. “I want to make it just as easy to get treatment, as it is to go out there and buy dope,” Breed said during the press conference. The stipend would be supplied in the form of gift cards or electronic benefit transfer, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. It would be funded by Homelessness and Supportive Housing Fund and CAAP Treatment Fund, KTVU FOX 2 reported. But the taxpayers will still have to clean up after them...

Memory Holes
Kamala Harris was against fracking before she was for it:
Harris’ anti-fracking viewpoint has stretched beyond presidential ambitions, however. In the same year, she cosponsored the Green New Deal – a climate change proposal which included a ban on fracking. “Climate change is real, and it poses an existential threat to us as human beings, and it is within our power to do something about it,” Harris said while on her first campaign trial. “I am supporting the Green New Deal.” As the media continues to purge previous criticism of Harris, Politico declared her anti-fracking stance as “allegations” and “accusations.” It’s amazing how the strategy of the Harris campaign and her media enablers is to pretend she hasn’t said anything she’s ever said in the past? They've become an official Ministry of Information...

No Ceremony
Don't mention the opening act:
Among other wild acts, there was a memorable fashion show, an interpretation of Leonardo da Vinci’s the Last Supper which featured actor Phillippe Katerine performing as a blue-painted Greek god of wine Dionysus, a metal horse galloping down the Seine with the Olympic flag and a heavy metal performance from Gojira introduced by a headless Marie Antoinette. All that appears to have been removed from the Olympics YouTube channel now, though, with ‘Video unavailable’ shown where the footage used to be. Full-length versions of the London 2012, Rio 2016 and Beijing 2022 ceremonies are all still available to watch on the Olympics channel. One of the complaints over the ceremony that it was ‘extremely disrespectful to Christians,’ according to billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk. The mockery was a bit much...
Red Vote
How to win an election, Communist style:
The National Electoral Council declared Maduro's victory, handing him a third six-year term. The ministers of defense, communications, technology and the head of the National Assembly were among those in attendance who applauded. “I slept like a newborn baby because it was a historic event,” Maduro said in the nationally televised ceremony. The election was to decide who will take control of an economy recovering from collapse and a population desperate for change. Officials delayed the release of detailed vote tallies from Sunday's election after proclaiming Nicolás Maduro the winner with 51% of the vote, compared with 44% for retired diplomat Edmundo González. The competing claims set up a high-stakes standoff. "Venezuelans and the entire world know what happened,” González said. The opposition vowed it would defend its votes, but González and his allies asked supporters to remain calm and called on the government to avoid stoking conflict. The Revolution will continue...

Fast Food Follies
Fast food dies a slow death in California:
California fast-food restaurants have been forced to cut back on employee hours, shut down, or consider moving out of state completely because of Gov. Gavin Newsom's new $20-an-hour minimum wage law, a new study has shown. The Employment Policies Institute survey of nearly 200 fast-food companies found that 89 percent of those eateries polled have already been forced to reduce scheduled hours for their employees, less than a year since it was passed. Some have had to lay off staff completely - a prospect many had warned about when the progressive signed the bill into law in the fall. Others complained that the concerns of small franchisees and their staffers would not be met - something the survey suggests is already occurring as officials continue to bill the law as a success. The study, meanwhile, also found that of those who remain employed, there's been less access to overtime and opportunities for extra shifts, limiting their overall take-home.Newsom's work is done...
Green Money
Janet Yellen wants to waste more money:
Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Saturday that the global transition to a low-carbon economy requires $3 trillion in new capital each year through 2050, far above current annual financing, but that filling the gap is the biggest economic opportunity of the 21st century. It is the biggest economic opportunity… just ask Al Gore who went from a failed presidential candidate to a tycoon. Lefty special interests are tearing apart the nation’s economy and profiting massively from political scams like DEI and global warming. None of this is creating actual value. It’s manufacturing a crisis and then making money from solutions to a crisis that does not exist. The crisis, as usual, is the crisis, and the solution is to stop falling for it. Or we can spend infinite amounts of money to make lefty special interests even richer and the government even bigger. “Neglecting to address climate change and the loss of nature and biodiversity is not just bad environmental policy. It is bad economic policy,” Yellen said in a speech after attending a G20 finance leaders meeting on Thursday and Friday in Rio de Janeiro. So is making environmentalists richer at the expense of regular folks...

Valley Language
It's become the universal language:
Via Los Angeles Times (emphasis added): The origins of the Valley girl accent have long been an enigma, though it’s thought to have emerged as a phenomenon sometime in the ‘80s. It was first properly contextualized for the masses in 1982 through Frank Zappa’s satirical song “Valley Girl,” in which his 14-year-old daughter Moon Unit speaks in exaggerated “Valspeak,” mirroring the language she’d learned from other kids in the San Fernando Valley. “Like, my mother is, like, a total space cadet,” Moon says, as the chorus croons “Valley girl” on repeat between lines. “She, like, makes me do the dishes.” In defense of the Valley Girl aesthetic, Los Angeles columnist Clarissa Wei derides critic of the cringe vocal intonations and needless insertions of “like” twice in every sentence as “linguistic misogynists.” Continuing: Yet in a globalized world where languages and accents are instantaneously broadcast and absorbed, how particular is the Valley girl accent to the actual San Fernando Valley or even to girls? Many of its signature features — the creaky voice, the upward inflection and the liberal usage of “like,” “whatever,” “totally” — can be found elsewhere in the world, pre-date the ‘80s and aren’t exclusive to women. Yet somehow the combination of the above, transmitted through the voice box of a young adolescent woman, has become such a distinct trope that it’s been relentlessly skewered on TV shows and late night specials over the decades. In fact, the mockery and parody of the Valley girl accent has been described as “linguistic misogyny,” as one scholar put it, and the stigma is so strong that “[the] habitual use of creaky voice has been shown to undermine the success of women on the labor market.”… “It is incredibly useful as a coping mechanism,” [Samara Bay, a celebrity speech coach] says. For instance, speaking with a vocal fry conveys a sense of nonchalance or detachment. “As a young woman — with all of the stereotypes around naivete and bubbly overenthusiasm — to seem detached is a great way of saying, ‘I’m good and I don’t need your approval’. The “linguistic misogyny” defense is, of course, nonsense, but the essential question that Clarissa hits on — “in a globalized world where languages and accents are instantaneously broadcast and absorbed, how particular is the Valley girl accent to the actual San Fernando Valley or even to girls?” — is the most important one. How is it that what was once a regional dialect that might have died out in a few short decades somehow became the de facto English accent worldwide? There is only one culprit, and it is California-based mass media.Like, not radical, dude...
Green Greens
It's good to be green:
Climate Change Dispatch recently highlighted the lopsided nature of climate subsidy benefits:Live as they say, not as they do...The majority of the $47 billion in green tax credits claimed between 2006 and 2021 went to high-income households, according to a new study published Monday by the National Bureau of Economic Research… Households in the top 20% of earnings nationally received about 60% of clean energy tax credits, while the bottom 60% of households received just 10%, according to the paper written by Severin Borenstein and Lucas W. Davis, two economists at the University of California, Berkeley… In the case of EVs, the top 20% of earners receive 80% of the credits, while the top 5% of earners receive 50%, according to the study. And, as Climate Dispatch also noted, this benefit to the top earners has been “relatively constant” even despite a “slight broadening” with 2018 EV credits. Interestingly, there’s reportedly “only a small correlation between greater green tax credits and the adoption of technology such as heat pumps, solar panels, and EVs.” Indeed, in 2023, when the heat pump tax credit increased to 30%, shipments actually decreased! Unfortunately, climate alarmists don’t really care how damaging their ideology is. People like Al Gore can grow insanely rich off spreading climate lies while impoverishing other people. Indeed, those same fat cats like Al Gore and John Kerry have energy-sucking, palatial estates, and gas-powered private jets. You and I are told to do fewer loads of laundry, take no vacations, use public transport, and live in tiny apartments with spotty solar-powered electricity by the only people who financially benefit from the climate lies and subsidies. As the World Economic Forum would say, you will have no property and no privacy — but don’t expect the elites to give up THEIR lifestyles.

Bugged Off
People aren't interested in eating bugs:
Klaus Scwhab’s World Economic Forum has been pushing for people to eat insects instead of meat to stop climate change. Because apparently cows are now bad for the planet and fart too much. So a Swedish company called Tebrito has been working hard to produce mealworms for insect proteins to put in human food like granola and protein bars. They got a whopping $4.2 million in investments to push this stuff. And now they have gone bankrupt because it seems like nobody wants to eat their insects. In 2023 they only had a revenue of a meager $49.000 and losing almost $12.6 million! In other words, nobody is buying their insects. Looks like people are REJECTING the WEF agenda.Woke eating still isn't working...
Class Privilege
Welcome to Guilt 101:
California’s Alameda Unified School District’s ethnic studies curriculum required students to assess their own level of privilege as they were taught Critical Race Theory and extreme gender theory. Students were given handouts including “My Relationship with Privilege and Oppression,” which purports to tell students “whether you are privileged or oppressed.” White, male, Christian students without a criminal record are singled out as the epitome of privilege. The document lists 29 different identities and characteristics—including race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, religion and education level—that are used to determine one’s alleged level of privilege or marginalization. “Who am I as an intersectional human being,” it asks students. Another assignment, called “A Map of Myself,” asks students to audit their own identities, categorizing each as a “position of privilege or marginalization.” “For each identity domain … consider if it puts you in a position of privilege or marginalization,” the assignment reads before asking students to list their race, ethnicity, biological sex, sexual orientation, and religion. Footnotes cite “anti-racist” author Robin DiAngelo and argue that “race is a socially constructed system.” “Considering all your social identities listed in the table above, on a daily basis, which ones are you most aware or conscious of?” the assignment inquires before going on to ask what “the most negative or difficult” thing about that identity is.Acknowledging your privilege gets you extra credits...
Save The Sand
Deserts are getting too small, or something:
The Guardian (United Kingdom) ran a headline about how "Desertification is turning the Earth barren," the narrative being that expanding drylands are leaving entire countries "facing famine." It turns out the opposite is true: greenhouse gases are greening the planet as vegetation is growing faster and faster. Yale Environment 360 ran a piece about the world's shriveling deserts, which will only shrivel further in the coming years. Now that we know CO2 is causing plants to grow and spread, the narrative has changed to one of climate change causing the deserts to recede. As such, climate fanatics are launching a new movement to "save" the world's deserts from becoming green, lush and fertile. No more fertile ground for them...
Red Harris
Kamala the communist:
Slater opened the segment by playing an audio clip of Vice President Kamala Harris saying:Not surprisingly, she's one of the haves...Equality suggests, often, everybody should get the same thing. Well, that often assumes everybody started out in the same place, as opposed to equity, which is everyone should end up in the same place. And if you then understand not everybody started out in the same place, you understand some people need more, so we all end up in the same place.“That’s Marxism,” Slater asserted. Estrin responded, “We’ve lost the basics on capitalism, why socialism doesn’t work, and why it leads to totalitarianism.” Estrin said. “It won’t lead to freedom. Her statement is an exact statement of non-freedom, because the only way you can impose equity, which is completely against the founding idea of this country, is for the government to tell people what to do and how to do it, and how much they can have and not have.”
Games Over
Welcome to the woke Olympics:
The opening dance number featured women flung around on poles as rain fell on the ceremonies. Others danced in the streets, including men lovingly embracing each other as they cavorted onto one of the many bridges across the Seine River in Paris. However, one of the prerecorded dance segments was even more explicitly LGBT, as three dancers in gender-ambiguous costumes ran through the streets of Paris and into a building. Their segment ended with the three — two males and one female — nearing each other in dramatic kisses, then entering a room to further their amorous acts. The segment ended with one of the dancers looking back at the camera and slamming a door in the viewers’ faces, making it clear that the three were planning on engaging in more intimate contact.Get your dose of gay Olympic porn here...
Tax Time
No tax for her:
Ms. Yellen told reporters at a July 25 press conference during the G20 finance ministers meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, that the United States thinks that a global agreement on taxing ultra-high-net-worth individuals is neither practical nor a particularly good idea. “Tax policy is very difficult to coordinate globally,” Ms. Yellen said. “We don’t see a need or really think it’s desirable to try to negotiate a global agreement on that.” The new global tax on billionaires was proposed by the European Union Tax Observatory last year, and last month, the Brazilian G20 presidency asked its researchers to lay out their proposal in more detail. French economist Gabriel Zucman, an architect of the proposal, has posited that individuals with more than $1 billion in net worth should be required to pay a minimum annual tax amounting to 2 percent of their wealth, according to a baseline version of what he calls an “ultra-high-net-worth tax.”Too many of her friends would be affected...
Conspiracy Theories
The rabbit hole get deeper:
The head of the FBI made the stunning assertion Wednesday that former President Donald Trump may not have been struck by an actual bullet when a deranged gunman attempted to assassinate him at a political rally — and was instead injured by shrapnel. FBI Director Christopher Wray told the House Judiciary Committee in a hearing that it was not clear precisely what caused the injury to Trump’s ear during the shooting. “With respect to former President Trump, there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear,” Wray said in response to a question from House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).There were no bullets near him...

Charge Time
You might have to wait for your ride:
New research by the Energy Policy Research Foundation (EPRINC), a nonpartisan, not-for profit think tank founded in 1944, finds that the United States' charging infrastructure will have to expand greatly to satisfy projected demand that will arise from all the electric vehicles that automakers will be required to produce under the recently finalized Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) CAFE standards were finalized in June, and they limit the amount of carbon dioxide a vehicle can emit per mile. Together with the Environmental Protection Agency’s tailpipe standards, which were finalized in March, the Biden administration is attempting to pressure automakers to transition their lines to EVs.You're on their time, not yours...
Star Turn
Kamala Harris enters the spotlight:
The slogans come down from on high, and overnight, the yard signs go up: “No human is illegal, Black Lives Matter, defund the police,” and so on. They’ll invent quasi-religious explanations for events they don’t understand or don’t want to understand, and then they’ll use the entirety of corporate media and academia to present those explanations as fact. Hurricanes are caused by man-made climate change; therefore we need “environmental justice.” Black people go to prison because of “systemic racism”; therefore we need DEI, and so on. Anyone who dissents is immediately cast out of the collective. If you want to create a stable, functioning country, this kind of mindless collectivism is obviously counterproductive. But Democrats’ goal isn’t to create a stable or functioning country. Their goal is to mobilize and to win. They don’t have time for internal debates or self-doubt of any kind. They move quickly.Waste not, campaign not...

Imaginary Change
The "science" isn't real after all:
“The premise of this study is that the climatic system is very complex and subject to perpetual change due to numerous processes, either internal or external to it,” the study said in the ‘Abstract’ section. “The fact that one of them, namely the relationship of climate with atmospheric CO2, is highlighted in the last decades does not correspond to its actual importance as a climate driver. The promoted importance is a non-scientific issue, related to the narrative that humans, through their emissions by fossil fuel burning, are responsible for the changes we see in climate.” The study stated that there are political and economic forces driving the propagation of the anti-CO2 narrative under the guise of science. “While causality is a fundamental notion in science and life, there also exist fundamental problems on philosophical, scientific and practical grounds, in its essence and its identification [1]. These problems are manifested in controversies, which are not only theoretical but have important social, political, and economic implications. Some of the most controversial issues of our time are related to Earth’s climate, not excluding the causal relationship between atmospheric temperature (T) and carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration,” the study said in the ‘Introduction’ section. There is a lot of hot air in claims over hotter air...
Bad Wind
An ill wind continues to blow in Nantucket:
Remember the story of Don Quixote? He was a crazy man who decided he was a gallant knight of old. In one part of the novel, Don Quixote attacks windmills because he sees them as threats — it’s where we get the idiom “tilting at windmills.” Nowadays, the windmills are tilting back at the people who think that they’re a great option for energy. And residents of areas near these windmills are fighting mad. “The federal government has ordered an offshore wind developer off Nantucket Island, a popular summer tourist destination in Massachusetts, to suspend operations after parts of a damaged turbine blade washed up on the beaches,” the Associated Press reported last week. Vineyard Wind, the company responsible for the turbines offshore, has cleaned up six truckloads of debris. GE Vernova, which manufactures the turbines, is also assisting in the efforts. Local officials are considering options for dealing with the situation, including legal action. “In response to the ongoing crisis on the island, the Nantucket Select Board will meet in executive session on Tuesday to discuss “potential litigation in connection with Vineyard Wind” regarding recovery costs associated with the blade failure, according to an online meeting notice,” reports Boston.com. Further meetings are taking place. “Representatives from GE and Vineyard Wind will give an update at Wednesday’s regularly scheduled Select Board meeting,” continues the Boston.com report. “The engineering firm Aracadis is also expected to complete an environmental assessment soon, which they will present at the Wednesday meeting.”Going green is literally a dirty business...
Dad's Complaint
Elon Musk is tired of woke brainwashing:
Musk made the comment in an interview with Dr. Jordan Peterson on Monday after he was asked about his thoughts on doctors performing sex change procedures on children, a practice both Musk and Peterson described as "evil." Musk said that his experience with his child Xavier, who now goes by Vivian Jenna Wilson, opened his eyes to what he called "the woke mind virus," which he has since vowed to "destroy." "It happened to one of my older boys, where I was essentially tricked into signing documents for one of my older boys, Xavier. This is before I had any understanding of what was going on. COVID was going on, so there was a lot of confusion and I was told Xavier might commit suicide if he doesn't…" Musk told Peterson. "That was a lie right from the outset," Peterson interjected. "Incredibly evil, and I agree with you that the people that have been promoting this should go to prison," Musk responded.Unfortunately evil is too often rewarded sometimes these days...
Palace Revolt
BLM is not with her:
“We call for the Rules Committee to create a process that allows for public participation in the nomination process, not just a nomination by party delegates,” BLM’s statement reads. “The current political landscape is unprecedented, with President Biden stepping aside in a manner never seen before. This moment calls for decisive action to protect the integrity of our democracy and the voices of Black voters.” Harris stated on Sunday her intention to “earn and secure” the Democratic presidential nomination following Biden’s announcement that he will not seek re-election as the party’s nominee. “Now, Democratic Party elites and billionaire donors are attempting to manipulate Black voters by anointing Kamala Harris and an unknown vice president as the new Democratic ticket without a primary vote by the public,” BLM continued. “This blatant disregard for democratic principles is unacceptable. While the potential outcome of a Harris presidency may be historic, the process to achieve it must align with true democratic values. We have no idea where Kamala Harris stands on the issues, now that she has assumed Joe Biden’s place, and we have no idea of the record of her potential vice president because we don’t even know who it is yet.”No love for the would-be queen...

By Definition
Women apparently no longer exist:
The Merriam-Webster company wants to maintain that status in the digital age, but it’s eaten its own seed corn. Just like Anheuser Busch lost billions in market value when Bud Light teamed up with drag queen (oh, we’re sorry, “trans woman”) Dylan Mulvaney, a nellie gay man pretending to be a girl, Merriam-Webster has torched the very thing that made it credible: truth. .... Let’s see how they define “female”: Got it. Being female is only usually about being the female sex (do you see the circular definition problem?). Also, it can just mean having a “gender identity” that’s “opposite” to male. Translation: “Females are males who say they’re girls.”Even if they aren't...
The Ignorant Generation
Meet the new knpw-nothings:
The survey found that “just over one-quarter (27%) of students correctly identify Kamala Harris as the president of the Senate” and that “almost one-third of students think senators serve a four-year term.” “Just over one-third (37%) of students correctly identify John Roberts as the chief justice of the Supreme Court,” the survey concluded, also finding that “[l]ess than one-third (31%) of students correctly identify James Madison as the Father of the Constitution.” The study also found that less than one-third of students know “that the legislative branch has the power to declare war,” only one-quarter of students know “that the 13ᵗʰ Amendment freed slaves,” and less than one-third know when the U.S. Constitution was written. “More than one-third of students are not sure who the Speaker of the House of Representatives is,” the survey found. The findings also indicate that less than one-quarter of American students “know that the Gettysburg Address is the source of the phrase, ‘Government of the people, by the people, for the people.’”They can't protest for democracy if they don't know wnayhting about it...
Bob's Goodbye
Bob Menendez is quitting:
A resignation letter from the senator was entered into the congressional record on Tuesday by Sen. Peter Welch, D-Vt., who was acting as chair of the Senate. Menendez informed Gov. Phil Murphy, D-N.J., that he would be resigning after Aug. 20 in the correspondence, which was obtained by Fox News. The New Jersey Democrat was found guilty on all 16 counts last week, which included charges of extortion, bribery, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, wire fraud, and acting as a foreign agent. The trial lasted nine weeks and the jury deliberated for three days before reaching a verdict.Bob can join Joe in retirement...

Disappearing Act
Whatever happened to Joe Biden?
It's extremely suspicious that Biden announced his decision to quit the campaign in a written statement that was most certainly not written by him. Was it even signed by him, or did they use a rubber stamp or digital signature? Where is the live update he promised? It's time for Biden (or whoever's running him) to give the American people straight answers about what's really going on. Is he so ill with COVID or some other ailment that he cannot even wave to reporters to show he's alive? Is he on a ventilator? Is he even alive? It's ridiculous to have to even ask these questions, yet here we are. Biden's physician released a statement saying everything is fine, but that's hardly proof of life. He's just resting...
Party Scoopers
Keeping out the riff raff:
The elections demonstrated the voters’ persistent support for political movements embracing right-wing populism on issues related to immigration, crime and social issues while abandoning milquetoast traditional center-right parties for failing to bring meaningful change. Yet, the insurgent populists came up short of converting the widespread support at the voting booth to electoral gains due to tactical voting agreements and support split among right-leaning voters. "In both cases, the left-wing parties were able to maximize their votes, and the right-wing parties were not able to maximize their votes," Mendoza said. "It's been said that Labour's support is a mile wide and an inch deep, but that's what you need to win British elections with large numbers of support without being focused in certain areas," Mendoza added about Labour’s lower overall popular support. "The reality in France was that various left-wing parties and Macron got together and basically shut the right out, but the right did not do a similar thing. The Republicans stayed in the race and did not give way to the National Rally or vice versa."All establishment votes count...
Red Labor
The joys of living in the worker's paradise:
The country has maintained an “extensive and multilayered” system of forced labor as a means of controlling and monitoring its people and there is “the widespread use of violence and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment” by officials to discipline workers who fail to meet work quotas, said the United Nations Human Rights Office in a report Tuesday on North Korea’s use of forced labor The report was based on 183 interviews conducted between 2015 and 2023 with victims and witnesses of such labor exploitation, looking at six distinct types of forced labor, including labor in detention, compulsory state-assigned jobs, military conscription, and work performed by people sent abroad by Pyongyang to earn currency for the country. The U.N. cited various testimonies from victims of the country’s forced labor system, including individuals forbidden to leave their worksites and a female worker who was sexually abused by a political guidance officer.Must have been part of their "training..."

Crazy Blues
Democrats go all in for their version of Quanon:
Despite the event’s taking place on live television, and the tragic death of 50-year-old firefighter Corey Comperatore, a staggering 34% of Democrats have fallen for the BlueAnon conspiracy that Trump staged the day’s events according to the Washington Free Beacon Joe Biden ally Dmitri Mehlhorn has helped spur on the conspiracy, describing it as a “false flag” operation akin to those seen in Vladimir Putin’s Russia. Meanwhile, MSNBC hosts Michael Steele and Joy Reid have even suggested that Trump was not shot in the ear. Many commenters on social media platform X were stunned by the poll’s findings, with most directing criticism towards the distasteful faction of the Democrats.Liberalism really is a mental disease...
Biden Quits
Joe is out:
The unprecedented announcement came as an increasing number of Democrat lawmakers had begun to publicly call for Biden to step aside and the party's leadership reportedly was engaged in efforts to convince Biden, 81, he could not win in November's general election against former President Trump, the 2024 GOP nominee who Biden defeated four years ago to win the White House. And Biden quickly offered his "full support and endorsement" for Vice President Kamala Harris to take over as the party's presidential nominee. "It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your president," Biden wrote in a public letter. "While it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interests of my party and the country for me to stand down and focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term." Biden said he will formally address the nation later this week about his decision. The old man goes home...

Racist Reading
So apparently being a bookworm is racist:
Part of white supremacy culture is the worship of the written word. Reading as credential, as class marker, as indicator of productivity and taste. Yes, this sets up poor, disabled, caregiving students to fail. But more importantly, the written word structures reality and time.Books are for privilged people, or something...
Horse Sense
Straight from the horse's mouth:
It would never even have crossed Thomas Jefferson’s mind to tell the people what kind of horse they could buy or that the government could control the climate. If one of his advisors had suggested to Jefferson—”Mr. Jefferson, because of the climate, we think Morgans are superior horses to Appaloosas and you ought to get Congress to pass a law forcing the American people to buy Morgans. Appaloosas flatulate more than Morgans do and are causing the rise in temperatures we’ve seen the past few decades and government has to stop that”—if someone had proposed that to Jefferson, he would have fallen out of his chair laughing in hysteria. Frankly, I’m laughing right now just writing about it. But that’s what at least half of the American people voted for in 2020, and are preparing to vote for again this year. Read Article 2, Sections 2 and 3 of our Constitution. Four paragraphs that define the powers of the President. It might take you two minutes to read them, if you are a slow reader.Unfortunately, leftits don't rea d it...
DEI Dies
The great DEI die-off continues:
“True systems-change work associated with DEI programs everywhere are no longer business critical or smart as they were in 2020,” a leader of the team wrote in an email “sent to thousands of employees,” according to the outlet. The email said the DEI team was eliminated because of “changing business needs” as of July 1, the report said. It was unknown how many people had lost their jobs. In 2020, Microsoft pledged to double the number of black leaders in the company by 2025. Undoubtedly, shifting focus away from DEI will hamstring those race-based hiring efforts. Microsoft is not alone. Bloomberg reported that Zoom laid off its DEI staff in February. Meanwhile, Google and Meta made DEI cuts last year, according to CNBC.Going woke has become a Big Tech joke...
Blue Red Green
Democrats have been getting some help from their Chinese friends:
BYD USA and its top executive Stella Li have been pouring cash into Democrat organizations and candidates for a decade, The Daily Caller reported. In China, the government practices “civil-military fusion,” where everything in the economic and tech spheres is accessible to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) military. Just because BYD USA is an American subsidiary, don’t believe for a second it’s not connected to and answerable to the US-hating CCP and its military. Among the BYD beneficiaries are Joe Biden and Gavin Newsom, according to The Daily Caller. Last year, BYD boastfully reported its dedication to the CCP’s influence operation, the Belt and Road Initiative.A little red green goes a long way...For example, BYD and Li gave more than $40,000 to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) between 2020 and 2023, according to the DCNF’s review of political spending records. The company and Li have also poured more than $30,000 into organizations boosting President Joe Biden’s 2024 reelection effort to date. Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom received about $60,000 from Li and BYD USA between 2018 and 2023. Newsom drew scrutiny for his administration’s decision to give BYD a $1 billion no-bid contract to supply protective equipment during the coronavirus pandemic despite the company’s core competency being in a different business, and Newsom subsequently took a BYD vehicle for a publicized test drive during a 2023 trip to mainland China.Other Democrats who received BYD moolah include former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and former Chair of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Michael Antonovich. The politicians turned an LA municipal clean bus testing program into a financial boon for BYD, Daily Caller explained.
Wage Learners
California learns about the cost of minimum wage increases the hard way:
California restaurant staffers are not the first to witness the negative impact of a higher minimum wage. In a popular PragerU video entitled “Minimum Wage Cost Me My Job,” presenter Simone Barron recounts how she quickly regretted supporting a higher minimum wage. Barron considered herself a “fair-minded progressive” who cheered on the Seattle City Council when they raised the minimum wage from $9.47 to $15 an hour back in 2015. As a consequence, the restaurant where she worked closed for good. Barron was quickly able to score an interview at another restaurant, but then that restaurant closed before she could even take the interview. Years ago, New York City’s higher minimum wage pushed the industry into a recession as 75 percent of owners reduced employee hours and 47 percent eliminated jobs. Years later, Sacramento, unfortunately, did not learn from New York’s mistakes. While many “fair-minded progressives” like Simone Barron may think a higher minimum wage is an overall good for workers and society, the reality is starkly different. Its detrimental effects often outweigh any potential benefit.$20 an hour really doesn't get you anything in the long run...
Red Shift
Young men are turning red:
An infographic with the data was shared on social media by X user @eyelasho. Ranging from 2016 to 2023, the data shows a 12 percentage point drop in the men aged 18 to 29 who identify with or lean towards the Democrats. In 2016, more than half of young men surveyed said they were Democrats. This figure saw a gradual decline during Donald Trump’s first presidency, rising back up to 47% in the year Joe Biden won the presidential election. However, under Biden, the number of young, male Democrats has fallen substantially by eight percentage points to 39%. Intriguingly, half of this decline occurred between 2022 and 2023.They were blue from being Blue...

Green Wind
There's a wind storm brewing in Martha's Vineyard:
The operators of the Vineyard Wind project had taken two full days before alerting the townships on the island that said 300+ foot blade had blown itself to smithereens. The project operators did note they'd picked up three large fiberglass pieces out of the ocean nearby and that the blade was still largely "intact," hanging like wet noodles from the turbine. None of this was news to the folks on Nantucket as they had closed their beaches and were already busy trying to corral the volumes of styrofoam and fiberglass washing ashore in sizes huge or small and insidious. The towns are in the nascent planning stages of how to go to war with the wind farm operators and GE, who manufactured the blades.Going green has come with a price for taking out the trash...
Fist Dump
Don't mention the fist:
The corporate media magazine announced an August 2024 issue cover featuring a bloodied Trump fist-pumping after surviving an attempted assassination on July 14 — less than 24 hours after The Associated Press’s Evan Vucci captured the iconic image at the Butler, Pennsylvania, rally. The Trump cover was the second one proposed for the August 5 issue. Just four days later, on July 18, however, Time had not only pushed the triumphant Trump photo aside as the pinned post on its X page but completely reframed its August 2024 issue to adopt Democrats’ and their media allies’ faux calls to lower the temperature and put out the partisan fire they spent years stoking. The new cover features a black-and-white still of the emptied rally stands at the Butler Farm Show Grounds. Superimposed above the scene stained with evidence of chaos and panic is a full-color American flag and the words “What Unites Us.” The accompanying link to the cover photo posted to Time’s social media timeline takes readers to an article by the magazine’s former editor-in-chief Nancy Gibbs, who claims she knows “How America Can Still Come Together.” The cover change comes mere days after a July 15 report from Axios claiming that several unnamed corporate media photographers are “worried” iconic photos of a bullet-grazed Trump raising a clenched hand in front of the American flag “could turn into a kind of ‘photoganda,’ with the Trump campaign using them to further their agenda despite the photographers’ intent of capturing a news event.”Changing the narrative to suit their own agenda...
Drawing Lessons
You're apparently never too young to offend:
The first grader was banned from recess and drawing pictures at Viejo Elementary in Orange County after she added the words 'any life' below Black Lives Matter on a picture she drew and and gave to a black friend. The picture showed the words 'Black Lives Matter' with four round shapes in various different tones of brown, beige and yellow, which was intended to 'represent her friends' who were 'racially-mixed'. The girl's family filed a lawsuit last year against the Capistrano Unified School District, claiming her First Amendment Rights were violated during the 2021 incident. But US Central District Court Judge David Carter ruled that 'Students have the right to be free from speech that denigrates their race while at school'. Carter added that the drawing was not protected by the First Amendment because of the age of the girl, named B.B. in the suit, as reported by the San Francisco Chronicle. She did indeed learn something...

Windows Release
Microsoft abandones DEI:
According to IGN, it recently laid off a "key" DEI team, stating that their "role and team were eliminated due to 'changing businesses needs' as of July 1. This sent one of its former employees ranting about how Microsoft no longer sees DEI as important to its business in an email, and as you'll see, the panic isn't just that DEI is dying at Microsoft, but that it's dying everywhere:No more woke anywhere..."Unofficially in my opinion, not specific to Microsoft alone, but [conservative policy plan] Project 2025 looms and true systems change work associated with DEI programs everywhere are no longer business critical or smart as they were in 2020. Hence the purposeful and strategic 3-5 year shelf life of many company's inclusion commitments post the murder of George Floyd are being reevaluated," the email reads. "And the way I see it, the timing was impeccable so businesses everywhere could reevaluate the path forward should their U.S. federal contracts be at risk if the work continues on its face." The email goes on to praise the work of DEI teams at Microsoft, saying that "impossible mountains were moved" during their tenure and celebrating the "brilliant, ethical, and world class strategists at the company, helping to make the world a better place." However, they also accused executive leadership of "investigated and evidenced discrimination, harassment, and toxicity" directed toward them during their time at the company.Microsoft spox Jeff Jones stated that Microsoft's DEI commitments "remain unchanged" and that the company's "focus on diversity and inclusion is unwavering," but one can't help but think that this is appeasement talk. Firing off a key DEI team, which is used to guide DEI policy, doesn't just get eliminated without there being a backing away from the practice in some regard.
Cases Dismissed
More bad news for anti-Trump prosecutors:
Government prosecutors informed defendants and the judge overseeing the defendants’ cases that it will drop charges brought under federal law Section 1512(c)(2) in light of the ruling from the nation’s top court, according to a July 15 filing. “This decision was made in order to avoid disruption to the trial schedule for a five-defendant case, and the dismissal eliminates the need for additional litigation as to the sufficiency of the Section 1512 charge as applied to these defendants,” the prosecutors told the judge. Prosecutors in a separate Jan. 6 case said on July 11 that they were dropping the same obstruction charge against defendant Mark Sahady after the judge ordered the government to participate in a briefing on the effects of the Supreme Court decision on his case and rejected a motion from the government for more time to assess the ruling’s impact. “Given the length of time this case has been pending, the specific facts of this case, the other relevant charges, the current trial date, and the need to promote judicial economy and efficiency, the United States requests that Count One be dismissed without prejudice in the interests of justice and that trial proceed on the remaining counts on August 12, 2024,” prosecutors said. They're rapidly running out of charges...

Storm Warning
There is no message in the Twisters movie:
Twisters, which stars Glen Powell and has an 84 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, has been taking heat from some segments of the online left for being a movie about tornadoes without ever mentioning climate change. As The Hollywood Reporter (THR) noted: The one thing Twisters doesn’t have: A reference to climate change. This is rather surprising. The possible impact of climate change on tornadoes is complicated and still being figured out, but scientists seem to agree tornado patterns are changing (with more tornadoes happening on the same days and more tornadoes happening outside of Tornado Alley, even if the number of tornadoes overall is unchanged). And, in any case, the American Red Cross recent told ABC News that “the climate crisis is forcing the American Red Cross to respond to nearly twice as many large disasters as we did a decade ago.”Just shut up and film...
Ill Wind
Biden's desire for more wind farms may be blowing in the wind:
The Biden administration has unleashed billions of taxpayer dollars to subsidize the industry in pursuit of its 2030 goal for offshore wind, which envisions offshore wind providing enough electricity to power 10 million American homes at the turn of the decade. However, more offshore wind capacity has been cancelled or postponed as is online or pending, according to data analysis conducted by Ed O’Donnell, a former nuclear engineer who is now a principal at a New Jersey consultancy called Whitestrand Consulting. “There’s no economic rationale for offshore wind as a market-based supplier of power, there are a lot of issues with it, but it won’t survive,” O’Donnell told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “It’s only surviving through subsidies in the form of massive federal tax credits and offshore rate subsidies from the different states and their ratepayers. So, this is why they’re struggling, because those things have economic consequences, and there’s a limit to how much of this can be passed on to taxpayers and ratepayers.”Nobody wants to pay for something that isn't practical...
Parental Pronouns
Don't tell Mom and Dad about your pronouns:
With Gov. Gavin Newsom signing Assembly Bill 1955 The SAFETY Act, school districts, charter schools, county offices of education and state special schools will no longer require educators and staff to notify parents if their child has changed their gender, gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation, according to the bill. (RELATED: California Dems Are Working To Keep Parents In The Dark On Students Gender Transitions) “An employee or a contractor of a school district, county office of education, charter school. or state special school for the blind or the deaf shall not be required to disclose any information related to a pupil’s sexual orientation, gender identify, or gender expression to any other person without the pupil’s consent unless otherwise required by state or federal law,” the new law’s text reads in part.It might be time for such a lwe, then...
Invisible Voters
They don't wan't you to know who's not allowed to vote:
The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights published the letter Tuesday, arguing the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act – which requires proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections – “seeks to intimidate members of immigrant communities and communities of color.” The letter baselessly called the bill, which passed in the House of Representatives Wednesday, “unnecessary and dangerous” and claimed it “seeks to promote fear-mongering and divisive rhetoric.” The letter also claims that concerns about noncitizen voting are unfounded because “federal law already prohibits noncitizens from voting in federal elections.” It doesn’t explain, however, instances in which foreign nationals have slipped onto voter rolls in the United States. “In Virginia, for example, more than 11,000 aliens were initially listed on the state’s voter roll within the past decade,” the Heritage Foundation’s Matthew Tragesser noted Wednesday. “In New Jersey, at least 616 known aliens ended up in the state’s voter registration system just a few years ago.”The Democrats were happy to help...

Beauty Queen
Meet the first AI queen:
CNN reports that the world’s first AI beauty pageant has concluded with the crowning of Kenza Layli, an entirely AI-generated Moroccan Muslim lifestyle influencer. Organized by Fanvue, an influencer platform for both AI and human creators, the Miss AI contest opened in the spring and attracted entries from approximately 1,500 AI programmers worldwide. Kenza Layli, the winning AI contestant, was created by Myriam Bessa, founder of the Phoenix AI agency. As the creator of the winning entry, Bessa will receive a $5,000 cash prize, support on the Fanvue platform, and the services of a publicist to raise Layli’s profile. The runners-up in the competition were AI contestants Lalina Valina from France and Olivia C of Portugal. They'd like to thank Skyneet for its support...
Busted Bob
Bob Menendez is going away:
Menendez pleaded not guilty to federal charges that he accepted an array of bribes in exchange for helping foreign governments. Jurors deliberated for three days. The conviction on all 16 counts against him exposes Menendez to a sentence of more than 200 years in prison, though such a heavy sentence is unlikely. The judge scheduled the senator's sentencing date for Oct. 29. Menendez condemned the decision in a statement outside the courtroom, so far refusing to resign despite overwhelming calls to do so. His attorneys say they plan to appeal the verdict. "I am deeply disappointed in the decision," Menendez said, claiming that he "never violated a public oath," and that he had "never been a foreign agent." Prosecutors delivered a brief press conference outside the courtroom following the verdict. "This case has always been about shocking levels of corruption. This wasn’t politics as usual, this was politics for profit," said U.S. Attorney for Southern District of New York Damien Williams. "Years of selling [Menendez'] office for profit has finally come to an end."A profiteer without honor...

Speed Zone
No more fast cars:
We “speed” because it often reasonable – and not “unsafe” – to drive faster than whatever the speed limit arbitrarily happens to be. Italicized to emphasis the point I’m about to make. For about 20 years – from circa 1974 to circa 1994 – the National Maximum Speed Limit (NMSL) decreed by the federal government was 55 MPH. On the highway. It had previously been much higher than that. Most states had highway speed limits in the 65-70 MPH range. At the stroke of a pen – literally – the maximum legally allowable speed became 55. What had been perfectly legal speed the day prior had become – just like that – illegal “speeding.” This is the very definition of arbitrary.Humans weren't built for government speed...
Desk Jobs
CNN goes broke going woke:
Three reporters are leaving the now-canceled beat. One was fired, while the other two were reassigned; it’s not clear who they may have been. This is part of a larger 100-person lay-off at the network. Unsurprisingly, the “Race and Equality” desk was set up in the religious fervor surrounding the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis in 2020. You remember—the U.S. went nuts, leftists and Black Lives Matter members burned cities and government buildings. And best of all, CNN itself birthed a meme when its on-camera reporter stood live in front of burning buildings in Kenosha, Wisconsin in the background while describing the protests as “mostly peaceful.” Mainstream media has been left-wing media for decades, of course. But the hard turn to insane left really kicked off with the death of George Floyd, and was further entrenched by the delirium that gripped America over the Covid-19 virus. Reporting became all-race, all the time, with white people and conservatives blamed for, well, everything, all the time. Though it’s not like their non-DEI news desks are much better – don’t forget their coverage of the attempted Donald Trump assassination only days ago, which they attempted to portray Trump being rushed off stage after falling at a rally. It looks like CNN is belatedly learning what Bud Light learned when its value tanked after teaming up with a drag queen pretending to be woman. And just last month, rural farm supply chain Tractor Supply reversed course and vowed to stop donating to and working with leftist social justice organizations after customers complained. The customer is still always right...
Case Dismissed
Another win for Trump:
Trump had faced charges stemming from special counsel Jack Smith's investigation into his possession of classified materials at Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence. He pleaded not guilty to all 37 felony counts from Smith’s probe, including willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice and false statements. "Former President Trump’s Motion to Dismiss Indictment Based on the Unlawful Appointment and Funding of Special Counsel Jack Smith is GRANTED in accordance with this Order," U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon wrote in a Monday ruling. "The Superseding Indictment is DISMISSED because Special Counsel Smith’s appointment violates the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution." Trump, following the ruling, told Fox News' Bret Baier – the anchor and executive editor of ‘Special Report with Bret Baier’ – that he was "thrilled that a judge had the courage and wisdom to do this. This has big, big implications, not just for this case but for other cases.Seems the prosecution didn't know Jack...

Higher Miseducation
College isn't for everyone:
32% of respondents said they have some confidence in higher education, and another 32% said they had very little or no faith in such institutions at all. The pollsters reported that confidence in higher education has fallen among all subgroups of the U.S. population over the past two decades, but the sharpest decline this year was among Republicans. Nine years ago, 56% of Republicans had a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in higher education, but today, the share has plummeted to 20%. But GOP voters aren't alone. Confidence among independents has fallen from 48% to 35% since 2015, and among Democrats, it has dropped from 68% down to 56%.College is no longer what it was cracked up to be...
Media Memories
The media can't run away from their rhetoric:
They want the rhetoric toned down for only one reason: to avoid accountability—their own accountability and Joe Biden’s accountability for recently telling his donors to put a “bullseye” on Trump and for declaring Trump a “dictator” on the same night as the assassination attempt. The media (and Democrats) must be held accountable for a decade of assassination dog whistles. When you launch a dehumanization campaign backed by billions of corporate dollars against one man in a country of some 350 million people, you are knowingly targeting that man for assassination. After all… Is it not a moral imperative to assassinate the next Adolf Hitler, to assassinate the man who will end democracy as we know it, to assassinate a fascist who will ensure this is America’s final presidential election? Of course, it is. But never mind that Trump is none of those things… The media thinking is this: We can’t defeat him politically, we failed to imprison him, so let’s call him a “unique threat” to incite someone to shoot him and then, after the shooting, let’s blame the victim and then try to shame Orange Hitler’s MAGAHitlerTard followers into silence. It won't work, no matter how hard they try...
Crazy Women
Liberal women are literally nuts:
Results show that white liberal women aged 18-29 were the most likely to have been diagnosed with a mental health condition with 56.3% of respondents answering ‘yes’ in response to the question. This dropped to 27.3% when 18-29-year-old conservative women were questioned. Trends show a decrease among all political affiliations in older age groups, with the exception being white moderate women aged 30-49 (32.8%) compared to the 18-29-year-olds of the same political viewpoint (28.4%). White conservatives over 65 were around ten percentage points lower than their liberal counterparts, with only 4.5% of conservative men aged 65 and over answering ‘yes’.With age comes sanity...

Alamo Woes
Don't remember the Alamo:
Updates to the Spanish mission, which was the site of the historic Battle of the Alamo in 1836 during Texas' fight for independence from Mexico, will include a new 100,000-square-foot visitor center and museum, a 4D theater, as well as a rooftop restaurant, which is being built across the street, the Washington Post reported. The budget is mostly allocated by the Republican-controlled state legislature. The Post's headline read, "Remember the Alamo? Rehab of battle site is latest front in culture war." Because the attraction is a source of Texas pride, Republican Jerry E. Patterson, who served as Texas Land commissioner from 2003 to 2015, told the Washington Post that if the new museum focuses too much on slavery, it could put off visitors. "If we make it a museum about all the bad things and whatever, nobody’s going to go there," he said. The Alamo wasn't about being woke...
Women's Things
Biology apparently isn't biology:
The Women's [sic] World video, released on Thursday, sees the 39-year-old pop star channeling a sexy Rosie the Riveter as she sings about female empowerment and dances around a shipyard. But some social media users were disappointed by Perry's inclusion of a glittery uterus as one of the images seen on the video, saying it was 'painfully cissexist' and exclusionary of trans women. One enraged X user wrote: 'Not only is the song pure sh**, but the video going "omg let's show a uterus, bc that's what women are!" is so painfully cissexist and evidence this bi*** is NOT in community with queers.' Cisgender, often shortened to cis, is the term used by some in the transgender community and their allies to refer to people who are not transgender. Another added: 'by saying "it’s a woman’s world" with a uterus it may send a message that only women have uteri and you’re not a woman if you don’t have one... Women are not defined by such things.'Strange, their anatomy says differently...
Reef Relief
The coral reef isn't in as much danger as you've been told:
First, coral is not a single organism. Coral is a curious critter. Coral is a symbiotic partnership between an animal from the Anthozoa group and a microbial alga called Symbiodinium. The microbial algae use photosynthesis to create sugar, and the Anthozoa polyps feed off the sugar. Here’s a description from the USGS. Next, modern-type warm-water shallow coral reefs have been around for about half a billion years … so obviously, they must be resistant to temperature changes, including the large temperature swings in the transitions between the glacial periods and the interglacial times such as the current Holocene. Next, “bleaching”. Bleaching is the natural response of coral to excessively warm or excessively cool temperatures. Or to pollution. Or to siltation. Or to toxic chemicals. Or to the death of the parrotfish or other grazers that keep the coral from being overgrown by other plants. When the symbiotic relationship comes under pressure due to any of those stressors, the algae may leave the coral’s tissue. And if the stress is due to pollution, siltation, or the lack of parrotfish, then the reef may But if the bleaching is from unusual temperatures, the reef doesn’t usually die. Instead, something entirely different happens. The usual outcome of bleaching due to temperature change is that after the algae die and are expelled by the coral, a different strain of algae that is adapted to the new temperature takes up residence in the bleached coral skeleton.Life finds a way...
Bugged
Bugs are now on the menu:
The discount grocery store chain Aldi is planning to sell edible insect recipe kits for families who are struggling to buy real meat. The company says the move will help consumers meet the daily protein needs of families amid soaring food prices. In recent years, globalists such as the World Economic Forum (WEF) and Bill Gates have been promoting bugs such as crickets as a cheap and sustainable form of protein. Aldi is currently investigating which insect-based products it could stock as a replacement for meat. The company is planning to stock products by Yum Bug, which manufactures insect recipe kits.Time to crawl to the store...
Ice Flows
We need more glaciers, or something:
“Everyone who is a scientist hopes that we don’t have to do this research,” said Douglas MacAyeal, a professor of geophysical sciences and co-author of the paper. “But we also know that if we don’t think about it, we could be missing an opportunity to help the world in the future.” The white paper emerged out of two conferences held on geoengineering—deliberate interventions to alter the planet’s climate—at Chicago and Stanford University. The conferences were organized by the newly formed Climate Systems Engineering initiative at UChicago, which “seeks to understand the benefits, risks, and governance of technologies that might reduce the impacts of accumulated greenhouse gases,” according to a press release. The scientists at the conferences advocated for two major types of geoengineering to be investigated. The first type consists of “curtains” moored on the seabed to prevent warm water from undermining ice shelves. The biggest threat to ice sheets is not warm air, but warm water, The second type involves attempts to reduce the flow of meltwater streams that run off ice sheets. This could be achieved, for example, by drilling deep into glaciers, either to drain water from the glacier bed and prevent it from affecting the glacier, or to try and freeze the glacier bed artificially. The report notes that both approaches are totally untested and their advantages and disadvantages, including potentially environmental disruption, are unclear. But there will be a lot of hot air involved...
The Committee
They really are trying to get rid of him:
he committee includes: Former Obama aides: The strained relationship between Obama and Biden extends to their former aides, including David Axelrod (Obama's ruthlessly pragmatic chief strategist) and the influential "Pod Save America" guys. Biden has reportedly called Axelrod a "prick," and threw shade at him — "Oh! You're kidding" — during Monday's call-in on "Morning Joe." The pod guys — Obama alumni Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Tommy Vietor and Dan Pfeiffer — have irritated Biden's camp by arguing for a new candidate. Lovett writes that it's "hard to deny that in the two weeks since the debate, it's the arrogant and small Joe Biden we've seen most." Former Clinton advisers: Carville, appearing all over the cable dial, says unsparingly that a new candidate is inevitable, whether the president admits it or not. Keeping him would be "an idiotic choice for the future of this country," Carville told Anderson Cooper on CNN. Elected Dems: Massive pressure is building from rank-and-file members of the Democratic caucus. One Democratic senator (Peter Welch of Vermont) and 17 House Democrats have publicly called for Biden to drop out. Scores more are furious at the White House for pushing them to support a president they view as unelectable. Swing-seat Dems: This is the group that really matters. Vulnerable Democrats have a clear-eyed view of the president's prospects. These Dems will abandon him — some already have — if they sense their seats are in jeopardy. The donor class: George Clooney, who headlined the largest fundraiser in Democratic Party history last month, is the leading voice of a growing number of Hollywood types who want Biden to end his candidacy. The group includes Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings and Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel (Rahm's brother). Late-night liberals: Stephen Colbert — who moderated a major Biden fundraiser at Radio City in March — strongly suggested the president should step aside: "I think that Biden debated as well as Abraham Lincoln, if you dug him up right now." Jon Stewart has escalated pleas for the nominee to be someone else. He hosted Favreau and Vietor on his podcast yesterday. N.Y. Times Opinion: Debate-night columns by Tom Friedman and Nick Kristoff gave way to full-throated editorials — all saying Biden must go. Biden aides busily leaking: "Some longtime aides and advisers to President Biden," the N.Y. Times reports, "have become increasingly convinced that he will have to step aside from the campaign, and in recent days they have been trying to come up with ways to persuade him that he should." Between the lines: Two prominent ex-Biden aides — former White House communications director Kate Bedingfield and press secretary Jen Psaki — have suggested Harris as a promising alternative.I'm sure she's waiting in the wings...
Attack Squad
The Democrats' own words come back to bite them:
A candidate for president was attacked in broad daylight after Joe Biden and the Democrats spent the previous two years screaming that he was an "existential threat to democracy." They all but invited someone to rid the nation of this "existential threat." The president and the Democrats have blood on their hands tonight. That's not an exaggeration. That's according to their own standards of rhetoric causing violence. Is anyone truly surprised? Democrats are now crying crocodile tears, bemoaning the violence and pretending they had nothing to do with it. “Violence has NO place in our democracy. My thoughts are with President Trump and everyone impacted at the rally today," said California Governor Gavin Newsom. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said, "My thoughts and prayers are with former President Trump. I am thankful for the decisive law enforcement response. America is a democracy. Political violence of any kind is never acceptable." "Donald “Dictator on ‘Day One’” Trump Is an Existential Threat To Our Democracy," headlines the DNC Warroom. For years, Republicans have been told their rhetoric leads to violence. Sarah Palin put a bullseye on the congressional district of Rep. Gabby Giffords. The "crosshairs" were not placed on Giffords. They were placed on her district on a map. After Giffords was shot by a mentally unstable person, Democrats blamed Palin for the attack. School shootings, mass casualty events, and almost any act of violence have been traced by Democrats to Republican "violent" political rhetoric. Now, the Democrats are going to blame the violence of January 6 as a reason for the assault on Trump. They literally have blood on their hands...
Character Assassination Attempt
never let a shooting get in the way of callous reactions:
Trump was addressing his supporters when shots were heard, and everyone hit the ground; bedlam, chaos, and terror ensued. Trump was injured in the attack; his ear grazed, and his face was bloody. Trump was undeterred, raising his fist to assure the crowd. Associated Press reported that Trump was blessedly “fine” after this attack. The media reaction, however, was atrocious. The Washington Post said Trump was carried away “after loud noises at rally.” CNN never even mentioned the gunfire in their headline. And while the AP said Trump was fine, which is well, their headline was garbage: “Donald Trump has been escorted off the stage by Secret Service during a rally after loud noises ring out in the crowd.”It's not as if they had any sympathy for him in the first place...
Word Games
omeone's found new words and phrases to be offended by:
According to the webpage, the anti-racist language guide is intended “to help us communicate in a way that validates our audience, is respectful, and helps us recognize and replace harmful language.” The language guide is intended for staff at the library when writing website content, writing an email, making a presentation, and when communicating with others. One of the phrases in the guide is “whitelist,” which is considered racist because of its “association of the color black with negative and white with positive reflects negative stereotypes.” [RELATED: Dem Congressman wants to double Pell Grant, says inflation is ‘eating away’ at ability to afford college] Hold down the fort, for example, “stems from settlers in North America building forts and guarding them against Native American intruders,” the anti-racist language guide contends. The phrase “peanut gallery” is also deemed racist by the language guide, which states it “was an area in the theater with the cheapest seats and reserved mostly for Black people and less affluent immigrants.” “Tipping point,” according to the language guide, is racist because “the term became synonymous with white flight” in the 20th century. No bad phrases for anyone...

The Invisible Candidate
The man behind the curtain?
BREAKING: MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough:
— Steve Guest (@SteveGuest) July 11, 2024
“What’s going on behind the scenes is the Biden campaign and many Democratic officials do believe that Barack Obama is quietly working behind the scenes to orchestrate this.”

Culture Creatures
When appropriation isn't what they say it is:
activists insist that cultural appropriation can only go in one direction, i.e. by the dominant culture against "oppressed" cultures. And by that, they mean white people against minorities. They have no objection to white culture being appropriated, as it has been for centuries, around the globe. The aforementioned Helligar, who raged at Dumbo's caricatured black voices, doesn't object to the same movie's caricatured Italian voice in Timothy Q. Mouse, or the caricatured uneducated poor white voices in the circus clowns. The activists' argument, such as it is, is designed to make white people lose in either situation. If white people admire and adapt an aspect of minority culture, they're guilty of "appropriation." If white people dislike and resist aspects of minority culture, they're guilty of "xenophobia" and "white supremacy." Per leftist dogma, the whites must be the oppressors in every situation, and minorities must be the helpless victims.Except when they aren't...
Carville's Complaint
James Carville is getting desperate:
Carville is under the impression that pretty much anyone on the Democrats' bench could "beat the pants off Mr. Trump," even though most polls show these replacements performing no better than Biden — and mostly worse. Carville doesn't seem to have an accurate pulse reading of the situation. "I’m not worried about our talent. We have a staggeringly talented new generation of leaders," he said. Polls suggest otherwise. Trump's position improves when pitted against all the likely alternatives, when the same man most voters think isn't capable of handling the presidency is doing better than the back-ups, that's a problem. "I’m not worried about the money. Americans will be fired up by this open process, and many are already fired up to beat Mr. Trump," Carville continued. Again, voters are used to knowing who their candidate is by the time summer rolls around, so an extended pseudo-primary is likely to be divisive, not unifying. "I’m not worried about time. We have excitement and momentum on our side," Carvile insisted. No, you don't. We're less than four months from Election Day, and the time for this to have taken place has long passed. "And our opponent?" Carville asked. "The one born with a platinum spoon but no moral compass? The pathological liar? The felon? The predator found liable for sexual abuse? The wannabe dictator? The Putin lickspittle? I’m not worried about him, either." You should be. Voters have already concluded that the lawsuits and criminal trials against Trump were politically motivated and rejected the scare tactics warning about the end of our democracy. Lord knows the whole Putin thing has gotten so old and overused; do voters even listen to that garbage anymore? Donald Trump was headed to victory before the debate. Carville is lying to himself and Democratic voters because if Trump has proven anything this cycle, it's that he's resilient and the Democrats' efforts to destroy him haven't worked. But people like him are still trying...
Voting For Votes
Democrats want everyone:
Five Democrats joined Republicans to pass the bill with 221 votes—Reps. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX), Jared Golden (D-ME), Don Davis (D-NC) and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA)—but 198 Democrats opposed the measure. “Today, 198 House Democrats voted against preventing illegal aliens from voting in American elections,” Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said in a statement. “Over the past four years, Joe Biden has welcomed millions upon millions of illegals into the country knowing that noncitizens only have to check a box to vote in a federal election. “We have long known this was an intentional effort to turn them into voters, and now the American people know where every member of Congress stands on this critically important issue,” he added. “House Republicans believe that only Americans should vote in American elections. House Democrats have now proven they believe that illegal aliens should vote in American elections.”This is what happens when you run out of both living and dead voters...

Electric Wheels
NASCAR has its own electric car:
The vehicle was developed in partnership with Chevrolet, Ford, Toyota, and electric vehicle (EV) developer ABB, all in an effort to reach NASCAR’s “sustainability” goals. One of those goals is to reach “net-zero” operating emissions in the next ten years, the racing organization said in its press release: While NASCAR is committed to the historic role of the combustion engine in racing, it is also committed to decarbonizing its operations and reducing its own carbon footprint to zero across its core operations by 2035 through electrification and innovative solutions. “There could not be a more optimal moment in time to announce our first Impact partner than in tandem with the debut of the ABB NASCAR EV Prototype at the Chicago Street Race,” said NASCAR Senior Vice President and Chief Impact Officer Eric Nyquist. “ABB is an industry leader and will help in efforts to decarbonize our operations as we pursue achieving net-zero operating emissions over the next decade.” NASCAR added: The All-Wheel Drive car has a generic Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) body made of sustainable flax-based composite. It shares many similarities with both the Next Gen and Garage 56 cars – the body sits on a modified Next Gen chassis, and the steering, suspension, brakes, and wheels all derive from the NASCAR Cup Series car. Many fans, though, were not all that interested in NASCAR going electric and did not support the organization’s X post announcing the prototype racer. “The day this hits the track I’m done,” one X user said in disgust. This race might be over before it began...
Big Blow
Texas is being hit by hurricanes because of fossil fuels, or something:
“No other state has suffered more climate-related damage over the past several decades than the Lone Star State,” Gongloff writes, fallout from “Texas’ aggressive pro-global-warming policies.” The writer goes on to make the unfalsifiable assertion that while climate change may not have caused Hurricane Beryl, “it certainly made it more powerful and destructive,” before acknowledging that a growing La Nina phenomenon in the Pacific might also have something to do with it. “Beryl is just the start of what will be an unusually busy hurricane season,” he prophesies, warning that “climate change makes each event more likely to go to 11.” Government leaders in Texas have “dedicated most of their energy to not only denying the reality of climate change but fighting efforts to address it,” he asserts, and “have passed laws keeping state money out of investment funds that they claim ‘boycott’ fossil fuels.”Sounds like there's more hot air from alarmists than there is in Texas...
